5 Netflix TV Series Recommendations

It's been a while since I made a post on my Netflix favourites, so I thought it was about time I posted some updated recommendations. And in no particular order...

 Orange Is The New Black
I included OITNB in my last Netflix recommendations post, which in retrospect is odd as season three was absolutely terrible and I think I must only have included it out of loyalty for the first two seasons. However, season 4 was my favourite by far and so I am again pleased to be able to include it in this post! Season 4 brought in some really interesting new characters, particularly some new guards who I feel really added to the show. On the whole I feel that I became more invested in this season, and I am a sucker for a sad storyline so I really enjoyed watching some of the backstories and some of the twisted things that happen in this season.

The Unbreakable Kimmy SchmidtI started off finding this program a little bit funny. From there, I started to really dislike it, and yet for reasons unknown to me continued to watch it anyway. And then suddenly, the last half of season one I really enjoyed and found myself watching season 2 pretty much every day and really enjoying it. I can't tell you exactly where my mind changed, but I'm glad it did as I ended up really finding this show very funny. I think to start with I had the same problem that I have with New Girl. In New Girl, I find Jess extremely annoying whereas the other housemates I find funny and enjoy watching. I had the same problem with this show - can't stand Kimmy, but really like all of the other characters. I think in season two they may have figured out that this was a problem as Kimmy moves back a little bit and it's much more enjoyable overall.

Scream
I haven't actually watched any of the new season yet, so all of my thoughts are based on the first season. I started off enjoying Scream much more than I thought I would. I expected it to be terrible, whilst it ended up actually being a lot more enjoyable than I had expected. It took a bit of a dip around the middle when it seemed to just be making no sense and getting a bit dull, but by the end of the season I was enjoying it again and I'm looking forward to watching the new season soon. This season isn't anything expected - you know exactly what you're going to see when you start watching it, but if that's your thing then this is a good watch.

 How I Met Your Mother
It turned out that my boyfriend considered himself to be a a HIMYM fan despite having never watched the first couple of seasons. He really loved the last couple though, which confused me greatly because they really weren't good at all and I only watched them because of how much I'd enjoyed the first few. Therefore, I decided we should rewatch it from the beginning together. I was worried that I wouldn't enjoy it this time, and perhaps towards the end of the show I'd just outgrown it and that was why I wasn't finding it funny anymore. Nope, it turns out the last couple of seasons really did just suck as I'm finding it just as entertaining the second time around! If you want a show that's funny whilst also being very true to life and a little sad, I would recommend this one.

Orphan Black
Orphan Black is a much more serious sort of show than I'd normally watch. I have a really limited attention span when it comes to TV shows so things that take a lot of brain capacity to follow don't typically work for me! However, Orphan Black has a really interesting concept and a lot of creative characters and therefore I found myself really enjoying it. I've only watched the first season as I felt I needed to take a bit of a break for it, but I am looking forward to getting around to the later seasons soon. I found that after the opening episode it was a bit of a struggle to get through the initial episodes, but overall it was worth the effort!
