Beauty Review: The Body Shop's Superfood Face Mask - in Amazonian Acai

Body Shop superfood face mask in Amazonian Acai
I've been monitoring these little superfood face masks since they were first announced. At first I was delighted to see them announced, as I do absolutely love The Body Shop products. They are by far my favourite brand to go to for skincare of all kinds - and increasingly, make up too, but we'll get to that next week...! - and I was so excited to give their face masks a try, especially when the available options just sounded SO good.

However, then the price was announced and I was more than a little put off. They're £15, for pots that to me, looked absolutely tiny and I really wasn't sure if I'd end up giving them a try after all. Especially as I am someone who enjoys Superdrug's very cheap face masks, and when I'm after something a bit more luxurious I'll go for one of Lush's, £15 sounded too much for something that I didn't think I'd actually get much use out of. So I wondered along to the store, not actually expecting to come away with anything.

It turns out, I needn't have worried! These jars are 75g of solid product. Turns out they just look tiny in the photographs - in reality, these are sizeable jars that you will definitely be able to get a lot of use out of.

I chose the Amazonian Acai, which states it will give your skin a wake up call and will give your face a quick recharge from signs of fatigue and stress. It was hard to choose, but at the time of buying this mask I had just finished working 14 days straight which was definitely showing in my skin, and so I decided that there really wasn't any other option!

As you can see, the product itself looks rather similar to jam! The smell is very sweet and strong and the texture includes some little exfoliating bits to help scrub off any dead skin. The box recommends you use the product 2-3 times a week, however in all honesty I don't think I will be using it quite that often. I prefer to use facial masks as and when I feel I need to or when my skin is looking a bit rubbish, but I imagine I'll be using these at least once a week all the same!

This product contains acai berry, guarana and babassu oil and is 100% vegan.

If the Amazonian Acai doesn't appeal to you, how about the rest of the range? You can also choose from...

Himalayan Charcoal, for a purifying glow
British Rose, to be replumped with moisture
Ethiopian Honey, for deep nourishing
Chinese Ginseng & Rice, to remove dullness and uneveness.

Body Shop colouring book
Since I bought a face mask, I also got a free adult colouring book! Which I definitely was not expecting.

The colouring book is based around relaxing, natural features from all around the world and is particularly influenced by flora and fauna. It was completely unexpected to receive this and I don't honestly know how long they are running the promotion for, but it's actually a really good colouring book. The pages are really thick and of good quality and it's much bigger than you'd expect it to be. It's not massively varied but will still keep you entertained with patterns of bees and honeycombs, flowers, butterflies, etc. I will certainly be keeping this and making use of it!

These face masks all cost £15 from The Body Shop. Buy them online here!
