I definitely wanted to go to a buffet whilst in Vegas, and after extensive googling, Bacchanal Buffet at Caesar's Palace was one that consistently came up as one of the best - once you got rid of all the ridiculous ones with their caviar and lobster that is! This is an enormous, beautiful venue (inside an equally enormous and beautiful hotel) and so we were immediately excited to begin. Myself and Chris took a structured approach and went to a different cuisine at a time, whilst Max flitted around around picked up whatever he fancied.
We were so disappointed that we didn't get to try these breads. I really wanted one as they looked and smelled delicious, but I decided not to approach them at first as I knew they would fill me up too quickly. I never did get the time to go back around to them and I was so disappointed by this!
We all ate some of this pizza, and all thought it was probably the best pizza we'd had in a long time.
I was the only one who went for lasagne as the others were too worried it would fill them up, but it was SO GOOD and they really missed out.
General feedback on the food was positive everywhere apart from when it came to the Mexican selection. There really wasn't much, and while I didn't have one so can't comment, the others were disappointed by their tacos.
But then we moved on to the section that I REALLY cared about - the desserts!
I adored the desserts. They were so good. I had one of almost every single dessert they had, to the amazement of the others. At every restaurant so far I had completely failed at being able to complete my main course, but I came here and I managed to eat more than anybody. The others gave up far before me on the desserts and watched in surprise as I continued to keep going. The worst thing is, I probably could have STILL managed more than I ate but decided to stop out of fear...!
Overall, we enjoyed our meal here - but there was one major problem. You get a two hour time limit, which sounds long but I just don't think is long enough for something like this. I've been to places primarily with three or four hour limits and I think this makes much more sense. I realise that this place is busy and popular and they can't just let you sit there all night, but when you're paying around $60 each then frankly you want that extra time to be able to try more and more, and give yourself the time to be able to eat more of the bread and rice dishes! Chris and Max both DID enjoy it and both agreed the food was good quality, but Chris didn't feel he'd got his money's worth due to the time limit on this.
It's still a buffet I'd recommend though, and if you'd like to visit yourself, check out the website for all the information!
